Going over the tibia/femur ratios
« on: February 04, 2014, 08:43:11 AM »

Purely out of curiosity, what happens to the body when the tibia is longer than the femurs.
I read on some of the diaries of guys under 165cm doing 8cm so it is definitely happening.

Is it at all similar to when the femurs are over lengthened?
What do you guys think?

Lengthening femurs makes your gait longer, lengthening tibiae makes your gait shorter.  If the gait gets too long or too short, you'll have problems with walking.

Hello,

My height is 164 cm and my goal is 172-173cm.
Should I do LL for my femur or tibia based on my leg proportion?

I think it'd look better if you did your tibiae.

First off, you should be standing to give us a full view of your proportions.  Your femurs look shorter than they actually are in that picture.  Secondly, you shouldn't be wearing shoes.  How tall are you?

During your tibia surgery, they can also twist the leg so the feet point forward instead of out.  That's what they did for me.

Sorry I don't understand.  what's the main reason of doing this?

I vote you do femurs.  The natural tibia/femur ratio is .8, and your proportions look greater than that. Plus lengthening your tibias will shorten your stride and is much more difficult to lengthen than your femurs.

tibia is more difficult to lengthen than femur? why is that?
what's the best option to lengthen femur? internal method?

p/s: thanks for your response. I really appreciate that.
