Is monorail on femur a good idea?
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:47:13 PM »

I plan to do only 4.5~5cm on femurs. How serious is  the muscle damage? How about the strange way of walking after recovery?

Its consider a safe amount (low risk) but for sure your ability will not be like before

Why would you want to do external femurs in first place?

yeah sure you have to ream the bones for internal femurs, but compared to the greater potential for misalignment with external femurs and the fact that it cant be corrected with monorails, that is a way worse downside in my opinion. not to mention the much harder recovery. I'd suggest to read a few external femur diaries before you decide to go through with it.

1. OP doesn't have enough money for internal femurs
2. OP didn't read enough diaries

Monorail is never a good idea - especially on the femurs.

Thats the reason I'm waiting for Dr Mitkovic to develop his internal nail. He is close to and that internal nail is much cheaper than other internal options. 16000 alltogether

Yes, his internals nails are cheap and are good. That doesnt exist now in this market, will be an exception.

Wait, you are saying the nails don't exist yet. But they are also "cheap and are good." Gonna be some good Serbian nails

How do you know something new and untested will be good?

Well if in the past there were successful cases, I think the nails are always fixed for improvement.
That is the reason why I wrote that, and those devices exist but talking about an older version. Always forget to write probably, sorry.
