Unfortunately, Hillary, it's difficult to say, even if other LL doctors or patients say otherwise. The problem is publication bias. The Albizzia nail upgrades are handled by a few doctors (Guichet and Betz) and the Fitbone nail has the Wittenstein company to oversee EVERY doctor who uses this nail. For this reason, I would not completely trust the numbers regarding complications and failure on the publications done by these doctors.

However, it is widely known that the Albizzia has the main issue of pain due to the ratcheting motion, which in some cases have required general anaesthesia for lengthening and also lacks the reverse function (shorten the gap to compress the bone in cases of delayed healing). Other people (Body Builder haha) might also tell you about problems with misalignment or delayed bone healing but there is simply no evidence of such problems. It is as good as the other nails in these aspects.

About the Fitbone, from what I've read, there is a good amount of implant failure and there are other technical issues regarding the retrograde approach (they insert the nail through the knee unlike the rest of the doctors).

So benefits of Precise 2, widespread use of this nail. Which means that if you take the time to read about the publications, there is a greater chance they will be truthful. There is a lot of information regarding this nail which is FDA approved (which means it has surpassed every stage including doubled blinded trial), they are very cautious about their approval (there are always lobbies though). Less pain in comparison to the older Albizzia nails, better control rate. Compared to Fitbone, there appear to be less technical issues and failures (again impossible to know for sure).

For the healing and weight bearing, Precise 2 and Fitbone nails are partial (first wheelchair) while Albizzia is full weight bearing (crutches). Full weight bearing with the first 2 nails is achieved after 2 months however this depends on the patient and doctor. Fitbone and Precise have reverse function unlike Albizzia. This is VERY important in cases of non union, delayed healing, etc.
