Shoes getting damaged from lifts
« on: April 11, 2020, 10:25:06 AM »

I noticed that while wearing only 1.5 or 2 cm lifts with shoes that fit me, because the whole foot sits a little higher inside the shoe, the toes rub against the front section of the shoes while walking and chafe up the material. Eventually wearing through the whole shoe. (PICTURE)

Does any other lift/insole wearer have this problem? Any way to prevent this?

I think you just need stronger shoes, have you tried with a running shoe?

I think the trick with lifts is wearing them with shoes one or two sizes bigger than your usual number. They also work better with high top shoes. Those will allow you to wear up to 7 cm lifts comfortably and without damaging the shoes.

7 cm holy  . It must feel very weird walking with those, not to mention how they would look. Are they really not noticeable while wearing high-tops? Do you have a picture perhaps?

As for wearing larger shoes, I really don't feel like buying a size or two bigger because that might look odd. I also have like 7 fitting pairs I really like and don't feel like never wearing them again. I like wearing slim pants and really want to avoid the "clown shoe" look. I gotta look for a different solution. But thanks for the response!

Is that an insole? I would strongly recommend elevator shoes instead. Regular shoes are just not designed to be worn with added insole inside.

What shoes do you usually wear, Bruce? Care to share any pics?

I have 3 pairs, but this has always been my favorite.
