Since i am on this forum then you might think i have some height problem and was thinking about doing the surgery. iam 35 old and 5'7 tall. but then i started thinking about my life and whether my height affected my life in some way or other. i came to the conclusion that i never had issues with my height always did what i wanted to do. i even dated taller girls than me some of them are 5'10 and never one of them complained about that. ok i have athletic body with cute face but i guess a lot of people here have the same. iam sure that not all girls will like my height but so do i  i may not like one of their features. it goes both ways. so if you are thinking doing this for dating and acceptance purposes i will advice you dont do it cause some girl may not like you or be attracted to you for something else. accept the way you are and adopt you life accordingly. do not adopt yourself to others to be felt accepted but rather the way around. find a girl that loves everything about you including your height. it sound strange in saying that  but the most proud times i felt is when i am with a very hot girl taller than me going to a party or something and people looking at her. even my taller friends were jealous of that.  it gives me so much pride as there are a lot of guys taller than me but she choose me over them. Make long story short always have a self confidence in yourself and show that in your attitude. trust me you will attract girls.

5’7” is not short to the point you will be rejected by the vast majority of women even if you look like a 27 years old Brad Pitt, try to be 5’4” and we sill talk about it

I totally agree, but you are thinking only about women.
Life is not only about women, but also about career.
Having a good height is a great career booster. It may sound stupid, but being tall helps with socializing, looking confident and competent.

No no no.Grils aint the problem.The problem is your confidence.
Its really hard to ignore others taller than you.And for me it seems like everyone is taller.So this surgery,lets get straight,is kinda mental surgery.And if you live in Asia,5'7 isnt short.If it goes that way,then your conclusion is also doubtful.

Lifts cant add 8-15 cm to your height. At 4 cm, lifts become noticeable and you will look stupid/childish. You cant look like a businessman/professional with chunky shoes. Just look at Robert Downey jr.

You are correct to some extent, but you can never optimize your life to the fullest. You can always do more, become more.
Optimizing life at fullest for me would mean to become a billionaire, become TOP 100 richest people on earth, become very popular and good looking.
This surgery should be done before all of these.
You should not wait to become a billionaire, and be the richest man on earth to do this surgery. You should not wait to become the most popular person from your country to do this surgery.

I agree to a certain extent that lifts past 3 inches (8cms) are incredibly uncomfortable and will look silly especially if your colleagues have seen your height without lifts. Having said that, I've worn 3 inch lifts ever since starting my job so my colleagues have no idea I'm 3 inches shorter (for now). I wear mostly suits so it's very easy for me to stick a lift in a dress boot (e.g, Allen Edmonds' Daltons) and no one is the wiser. I do sometimes get asked why I always wear boots - but I say I like the support.

Having said that - there have been a couple moments of embarrassment. For example, a couple of my colleagues were behind me at the airport and saw me take my boots off when going through security. On one occasion abroad, the security agent actually removed the lift from my shoe to inspect. Fortunately my colleagues were not behind me when that happened!
