Useful things which will help the process
« on: June 18, 2019, 09:03:24 AM »

Hello,

I have my surgery booked for in 2 months time. Anyone who has had the procedure done, can you recommend items/clothing that made the process more comfortable. I am unsure what type of clothing / footwear to pack or anything else you found helpful? I am a female!

Thanks!

Depending on your apparatus, get stretchy button up track pants that fit over them so going outside is a bit nicer for you. Get a stretchy rubber band for flexing your ankles and working out, get weights to train as well. Get a foldable bed table for your laptop that you can use while you lie down. I used minimalist shoes but it got my ankles too swollen, but it may work for you. Try those, and very VERY comfortable shoes for walking as much as possible. Get breathable gym clothing, because walking will make you sweat.

Physiotherapy, setting a schedule, setting a meal plan, having someone to whip your ass to follow it.

Easily the biggest factors.

1 year post can run slowly, walking/gym everyday. Issues are zero, ankle tight waking up.
