Cyborg, just tight, like a cramp that doesn't necessarily hurt.

Also, your range of motion is way sub par if you don't stay on this. For example, most people can sit on feet, or close to it (while on your knees), after this, that becomes a challenge, you have to literally stretch for 6 months straight to get this back.

I'm glad that everything turned out to be nice for you. I wish you the best.

I have a question to make, would you rather having a second surgery to appear even taller? Would you risk it?

Best Regards

Good question, I am so happy with what I have now, that it is not a priority for me. I hear the tibs are an easier process than the femurs (lol I would imagine it is), so i do not rule it out.  With that said we will see how I feel in about 6 months from now. lol I do think sometimes, imagine going all the way up to 5'6 or 7 lol (from 5'1 one year ago) - quite a growth spurt lol

If I went in and the Doc said I couldn't do it though, I would not even flinch, just being where I am now with 3 more inches, has made me feel "whole", if that makes sense.

Can you walk sideways?
Can you comfortably turn fast in all directions while standing still?

Oh yea, I am actually back in the boxing gym hopping on my legs, bobbin weaving, side stepping, changing direction, pushing off you name it. Only thing I believe i could be better at is my flexibility in my quads.  I will need a few more months to get back to normal on this.

Hi all, I am about 1 year and 3 months post op.

Had this weird issue come up this week, where my right leg became real achie, almost like growing pains around the knee. Even at times  I feel sensation in shins and feet. I been taking tylenol which seems to relieve the pain for about 1 to2  hours, then comes back. Any ways, I am keeping an eye on it, and may have it checked out if it continues.

You guys ever experience this?

Hey BoneStretching,
Would you please try exercise 9(c) and 10 in Version 2 of my set of exercises (page 12 of my diary). I believe they are at least harmless, but may hopefully help with your knee pain. I also highly recommend taking vitamin D, daily.

Just update, going into day 3 of the 24 hour period of pain and tightness in knee, calf and shin area, seems to shift around. I would describe it as a tightening or chrushing pain, throbbing. Advil and tylenol, bring me back to a place where i can relax again, but bumber either way. ne ways trying to walk and stretch it without over doing it. I am 1 year 3 months post opp, and this just started out of no where. Maybe i tweaked something while doing a light jog. Ne ways.

Do you keep in touch with other patients who have undergone the same procedure? Also how old are you?

New update on the play by play team , bc i consider this my first post recovery "event".

This AM , no pain now when idle, great sign. Ha vent taken pain meds for last 5 hours. God willing, i am back on track. Possible could have tweaked something while jogging, or jumping around the house.

Will see what happens by end of day.

myself and a few others reported some sort of similar knee pain about a year post op, for me it was exactly a year post op where I started having a lot of pain on the one knee, then after a couple weeks the other knee and leg was having pains. I believe it's some sort of ~1 year adjustment pains, the pains calmed down about a month after, but they would come back for a day or two if I walked a lot, or did any type of physical activity harder than walking a little. it wasn't until about a month that I stopped having knee pains completely, and around the same time I also stopped eating meat, I'm vegan now, I don't know if that contributed to it or if it just took a 2.5 month period for those pains to completely go away, but that's why you see in my current update I'm able to sprint now and jog and play soccer again, I wouldn't have been able to during those painful periods. Hang in there they do subside.

So this AM still achie.. but no constant pain. no meds either which is a good sign to see improvement without meds.

I thought maybe I had "bar bend".

all just reporting a full week later pain has gone away.

Based on this experience, i would suggest unless you are a "phenom" like Movie, stick to stretching and progressive movements. walk, fast walkin, jogin, and then run. Dont just one day feel good, and start hopping around like i did.

Peace my LLer Bros.

lol Growing pains... I decided to just take it easy. Fortunately for me, I don't have any sports to return too aside from boxing, which i can do fine. Its that hopping and running that gets me. I will keep stretching, and with my strength training, no hopping for another few months.
