TSF Frames vs Ilizarov
« on: August 06, 2020, 12:28:49 AM »

Hello,

I've got a question, do we have to keep the TSF frames whole the procedure til the bone gets consolidated? Is the amount of waiting same as ilizarov?

Best Regards

TSFs and Ilizarovs serve the same purpose, so I would think the waiting time is the same.

For LON and LATN, the external fixator is taken off after the end of lengthening, but for a purely external procedure the external fixator stays on until after consolidation.

Thanks for the answer.

Do you think going with TSF would be better than LON on tibias?
(as long term effects)

You can do LON with TSF.

TSF is just a more technologically advanced version of the older Ilizarov fixator.
