What is the recommended age to undergo this procedure?
« on: November 18, 2020, 06:11:22 AM »

Is it safe to undergo this procedure under 25 years of age? That's typically when the growth plates are shut.

Also: are there any diaries of people who have gone from 170 to 178cm? I wanna read some of them.

There was a patient @Paley who did the femur Stryde procedure while I was doing mine and was 17 years old. They tested his growth plate before doing the surgery

The growth plates are shut at 18 for most people. So anything close to that age would be the best age to do this.

In general, the sooner (after growth plate fusion) the better. Growth plate fusion usually occurs by the age of 18, as mentioned previously.

That being said, even people aged 40+ can get great results (see Sunshine’s current diary), but recovery times might be a bit longer.
