Overall 16 cm is crazy I’d say keep it as safe as possible

Thanks everyone.

My goal was 8cm so im very happy i reached 8,8cm. My widelegs are considerably better now compared to when i first got them.

Hi Tallertree.

How much for the surgery ?
How much for medicine and accommodation?
Also did you have IT band release surgery ?
The total cost for surgery + 2 weeks stay at the hospital was 52.000 Euro. This includes medicine, food etc during the stay at the hospital for 2 weeks. When i left the hospital after 2 weeks i had to buy medications wich lasted about 3 months and the cost for this was about 600 euro if i remember correctly.

No i did not have IT band release. You dont need this if you keep stretching everyday.

I have a general question: Does Dr. Betz put in the nail right over the knee or from the hip area?
Thanks!

You look really good, I would never guess that you've had LL. What's your wingpsan? those proportions are legit perfect.

Thanks :)

My gait is not completely normal yet. However, it has improved alot since i stopped lengthening. So its probably a matter of weeks until i can walk like before the surgery.

I had new x-rays taken a few days ago but im still waiting for them. They will probably send them to me this coming week.

My wingspan is 170cm.

WTF???? I saw the video before following the rest of the thread, and I thought for sure this was a guy who went 170->175 or something. You look amazing man, especially for how much you lengthened and your starting height.

I think my new longer legs might give the illusion of me being taller than i really am. The biggest difference with my new height is that i feel normal now. I does not feel as if im an outsider when i meet people anymore. Also, many people have commented on my height and said "you are taller!" and its usually people who were either little bit taller or little bit shorter than i was before the surgery. People who are above 180 rarely notice the difference, or at least they dont say it to me. Maybe they feel its awkard to mention it, or think they might insult me for mentioning it considering i was very short before.

I met my old boss a few days ago, a woman, and the first thing she said was "holy   you are taller" and "i could see it directly when you entered the door from the distance"

Its really awesome outcome. It was from 162 to 171, right? Do you think about tibia surgery aswell or this is enough for you? Gosh with 9 cm i wouldnt probably consider CLL and just go for one surgery and perform daily stretching, exercises etc.

This outcome is amazing...
Honestly you look incredible! I would never say that your longer legs look disproportionate, in fact they look much better than average. Maybe because longer legs give the illusion of being lean and tall.

But man, 9cm is such a high amount of lengthening. Aren’t you worried about your athletic abilities, etc.?
I just do not know what the trade.off for this great aesthetic benefit might be...

keep safe and enjoy your new height!

Internal Lengthening without ITB with weight bearing for $60k usd.

This guy did 9 CM on Femurs

This diary is GOLD.

You got Xrays man ?

Also where did you stay for lengthening ?

When do you think you will get Rods out ?

You think the way they measure XRAY is accurate?
how do they measure?
no chance legs can be different length?
Sorry to blast so many questions but just some concerns.

I appreciate it.

Did you meet a lot of other LLers?

I would love to to tibia aswell but my torso is to short for that. My sitting height is that of a person who is 160cm, even slightly less.

I dont think my athletic abilities will get reduced that much. Right now im still recovering so i cant really tell what the difference is.

Right now i only have a normal paper print of the latest x-ray. I will get the real digital ones in a few days, i spoke to them today. I soon as i get them i will post them here for both legs.

However, here is a scanned image of the normal paper print(this is low quality image)

The measurment on the x-ray is not correct, Dr. Betz told that only the amount of clickings can give a proper measurement because 1 click equals 0,052mm.

wow, your callus is excellent.
you are one of those 10/10 patients.

My theory is that the more you walk the more callus growth your stimulate.

@tallertree, did you walk alot? can you give a ballpark percentage. Like 50% of time you were awake?

Sitting height doesn't matter that much, lots of taller people have the same sitting height as you if not 1-2cm more at best. Looking at how great you look now compared to before, I think you could easily get 5cm on tibias without that screwing you up in any way, possibly just further improving an already amazing outcome.
To be fair you look impressively proportionated which is great news, you're seriously leading me to think that proportions are just an over-stressed topic, which should not limit or concern us as much as it does. That said, big congratulations for your astonishing achievement, truly inspirational for all of us, enjoy reaching the shelves :)

Wow, congrats! This is inspiring for every future patient out there.

May I ask some questions about your recovery because I can’t find much information here and you seem like the ideal:

- how long did it take after you stopped clicking to be able to walk like you do in the video?

- when did you ditch the crutches after click stop? Not only at home but also outside

- how much longer will it take until full recovery?

- did you feel better right after you stopped or did it take a few days until you noticed any difference in terms of muscle stiffness or knee pain

Thanks!

- Walking became easier about 2 weeks after i stopped clicking.
- I ditched the crutches about 1,5months after the surgery. I did use them sometimes though, but from august i pretty much never used them anymore.
- How fast i recover from now i think depends on how much exercise and stretching i do. Right now im doing less than usual because i live alone at the moment and i dont have anyone around who can help me stretch. I only do stretching with my physiotherapist, but thats like 2 times every week only. I would guess that in about one or two months im pretty much fully recovered.
- It did take a few days after i stopped clicking before i could feel the difference.

Yes I do want to add, before doing this surgery, ask yourself if you have optimized your life to the fullest extent possible (job/career, personality, etc).

hi Tallertree,

„I ditched the crutches about 1,5months after the surgery. I did use them sometimes though, but from august i pretty much never used them anymore“

As soon as you ditched the crutches, were you walking a lot? Also bigger distances like going in to the city?
