Such as in the USA

Ex: orthopedic surgeon who doesn't know how two take it out or other reason? "we don't do that at this center" or any other reason?

I heard that it may be the case that any orthopedic surgeon could do nail removal

Here in Sweden they don’t want to remove my nails because of the severe trauma it will leave in my knees.

I have no problems with them in my legs so they’re staying in.

Stryde can cause cancer because of some ion sh1t, right? So isn't it unsafe to keep the nail inside? Just asking

Most orthos only do like shoulder and knee replacement or stuff like that. Most won’t do it and have no clue how, you have to find a ilizarov or deformity trained ortho. In Houston tx where I live, there is doctor brinker who is like paley level but doesn’t cosmetic, but he does nail removals

Well. I'm trying to figure out a good plan. I mean I could call every orthopedic surgeon in my area, ask if they do nail removal, ask their NPI #/CPT code to do it, and then shop for insurances that will cover that code. That would be quite substantial work and not guaranteed to work, what might you do?

Most insurance plans don’t let you pick what doctor, You have to go to a regular doctor and get referred to an orthopedic doctor.

Some plans (expensive ones) let you go to ortho without referral

But a lot of doctors don’t except certain plans so make sure about that
