Position of the syndesmosis screw for tibia lengthening

Dr Paley said that the end of the screw that is in the fibula should be lower than the end on the tibia. If not, you are likely to develop ankle arthritis.

I spoke to a ortho surgeon about this and he said disagrees.

How was your screw placed and what’s everyone’s thoughts here? I’d love to hear from more surgeons.
