Alternatives to Distraction osteogenesis

Since even on here the consensus seems to be that regular limb lengthening with DO will essentially turn you into a half-cripple for life, let's discuss potential alternatives.

Fiddling with your joints, hormone therapy, tissue engineering, implants...
Literally everything goes. Just post
  • name of the procedure
  • where you heard about it
  • whats so special about it
  • potential risks
  • costs
  • if it's still in development how trials are going etc.
  • who is/wil potentially offering it (includes legal status)
Even already debunked bogus techniques like LSJL are welcome if you can point to some new weird/interesting aspect of it or shed light onto some obscure detail that previosuly went unnoticed.You can also just make fun of it. The more obscure the better!
