Had my consultation with Dr M in LA
« on: March 19, 2023, 02:58:27 AM »

I asked him if they do a "soft IT band release" vs a full IT band release. He didn't know what the difference was for a soft vs full? My question is in the US, do most surgeons do a full IT band release?

Another question would be whats the difference between soft vs full?

I asked this question to Dr Giotikas in Greece before I had my surgery. Apparently the terms "soft" vs "full" are something the LL community made up and surgeons do not use this terminology. But they do know the difference - you just have to explain it in a different way (i.e., the degree to which the IT band is cut)

Did my surgery in 2019 with Mahboubian, I think he was the best bang for your buck back then, not sure if things have changed, either way you're in good hands if you go with him.

I did it with Dr. D in Vegas. Pretty close by so maybe an option you want to consider? I paid $70k cash for everything and that includes hospital stay, which I think is one of the cheapest in the US. And Dr. D is a world class Harvard graduated surgeon. I trust him because I know the cosmetic surgery is only part of his job, and he's a super smart surgeon that treats real cases of limb issues.

If you have any questions about Dr. D feel free to ask me, there are pros and cons, mostly pros tho, and I'm glad I chose him.

Mahboubian is now 82k for femurs and that's for Precise 2.
