Topic: Proportions, the only reason why I won't take the risk (Read 11519 times)

Most of you had probably seen that my main struggle are my proportions. In my opinion, proportions are more important than height. Having a nearly ideal proportioned body I find it hard to decide to do LL or not. Some might just say "fk it and go for it" but in my opinion I don't think it is that way. I am not just short but I also have short arms, short torso, and SHORT LEGS. I don't know what to do anymore. I guess LL isn't even a choice for me. If I was 5'5"-5'8" with a nearly ideal adult-shaped body then yes but since I have a body of that of a pre-teen then I don't know what to do.

I included finally a full picture of me, covered my face ofcourse. Also I am in a dilemma for if my head is too big for my body or too small for my height: http://oi58.tinypic.com/e5r3bm.jpg

The shirt also fits me like 4 inches longer from my half height. Check as well my friend's height for reference, he claims being 5'9" but I think he is 5'10"-5'11", especially since his shoe size is 12 USA (my size is 6.5): http://oi58.tinypic.com/33o1eeu.jpg

Nah its fine thsnks man, you know, that seasonal depression that hits everyone also hits me as well. + more reasoning and concerning when you have your confidence low due to the height... feels bad, but we need to coop with if. Generally I start to get hyper by April lol

Wrong. Proportions don't matter as much as you think. If you're worried about women not liking your proportions, a few studies have shown that women actually prefer men with long legs.

wingspan.

height from floor to navel
height from navel to top of head
height from floor to where penis inserts into body

and height in cm even though you've already told us. (just so its in the post also).

Mate your arms don't look that short (hard to say with that posture though) I'd say you could at least lenghten 5CM maybe more.

Ask yourself what the lowest height you could live with is -maybe 165CM? You're 5'1 (155CM?) so that is doable but it won't be easy. In your case I think the added height will make your life much better even if you end up somewhat disproportionate. However if you do 5CM in two segments and perhaps also lenghten your arms (I know that sounds grave but it's doable) I don't think your proportions will look too strange and you will be the same height as millions of other men worldwide.

Also, do you work out, mate? Try Stronglifts 5x5 to add some beef to your body. I can give you a link: http://stronglifts.com

Some muscle should look great when you hit a solid 5'5 or so after your first ll surgery. Also, I'd advise wearing some three inch boots for a confidence boost.

Honestly, if I were him, I would lengthen about 8-9 cm on the tibias, first. RGkey did 9 cm, and he looks great after his surgery with Dr. Barinov. I normally wouldn't recommend that much, even if some of the research shows it can be done safely, but given OP's starting height, I think he could really benefit from it.

Yes except that I would split it into two surgeries. It would be safer and look better both. Littlewhiteman should ease up on his proportion rules in my opinion. Since he is very short extra height will benefit him immensely.

That's what I mean. Probably I am short but I am proportionate. I know a lot of guys who are 165 cm tall but they have long-ass arms and torsos. Upper body looks perfect for them and it simply seems like their legs were stunted. I usually compare myself to my 5'4"-5'5" pals and most pf them have the same length as me, probably only half an inch or an inch longer in total. I have noticed that the majority of a short guy height's comes from their torso. Again, I hope I can hit if much 5'3" so I would be able to live with it.

5'3 is a 5CM increase so that's no problem I think not until you add 7-8CM should you start to see any noticeable disproportion and even then I think you can live with it.

No one even understood it, I don't care about increases by surgery, that's a big no I am going for now. Not even for 5 cm (that's a stupid idea, if I even do it it would be around 8 cm). Anyhow, my main concern is not how tall or short I am, it is actually how proportionated I look. I feel like I have a kid's body but it is again due to my short upper body not because of my height. I had seen a lot of men a little bit taller than me (but not so tall) with a manly upper chesy. And I am not also talking about mass either, it is just their bones. I hope I am a late bloomer or something but I doubt it since my hand and knees growth plates are closed by now.

I don't know anymore, most of you think that LL is the solution for everything but it is not the option for everyone. Again we all have different proportions and some might look great with the LL, some might not. I wish there was a safe way to lengthen the spine again... I am just going psycho guys... I just don't know anymore what I need at this point. At one point I thought that my legs were short but I also find to realize that my torso is as well. This fking sucks... I feel like a child because I am literally trapped in a child's body... with children proportions...

P.S.: I know this indian guy at my school who is 5'8"-5'9" and he looks extremely weird, his legs are too long for his upper body and whenever he sits he seems short as hell... idk if he is a late bloomer or he had LL or anything but idk he grows moustache already but is skinny as hell so...

What you need mate is first of all to get someone to help yo with your depression and then yes; in your case I think LL will be a solution for a lot of problems.

Talk to a psychologist. I think you could really benefit from one.

Your profile says that you are only 16 years old? What makes you think you stopped growing? I've known guys in high school who had major growth spurts in their last couple years, and even guys that growth spurted after high school. How tall are your parents?

Also, it's hard to tell where your crotch/inseam is in the photo. Can you post a better photo?

My Wrist growth plates are closed, as well as my knees. The doctor gave me a last hope of a spine growth spurt but he told me to not expect a huge spurt if much to expect only 1 inch growth. That was since 6 months ago and I haven't grown anything at all since then and before (been 5'1" since 12-13 years old and I am starting to grow a bears by now).

In the mean time, buy some boots. They will put you at about 5'4. Make sure they have 2-3" of heel.

Look into leg lengthening with Dr. Shah in India; he is immensely qualified (trained by Dr. Paley) and only charges $8000-$9000 for Lon or latp.

I haven't seen any diaries, but he is very credentialed, and he is ASAMI-certified. I highly doubt anyone would have any Dr. Sarin-esque nightmare experiences with him.
