Hello! I am new to this forum, but I have been lurking for a while. I am 29 years old and 172 cm short. My dream is to become 6 feet tall. I guess I would want the lengthening segmented. Maybe 5cm tibia + 5cm femur.
I haven't yet done specific measuring like sitting height, wingspan etc, but I believe my arms are on the longer side and my torso short.

So I would really like you guys' input; can I get 10 cm longer legs without looking silly?

PS: the only images I have that show my full body, are of me flexing(LOL). I was lifting weights for a few years, and I guess they were taken to show progress, not for the sake of analysis for LL. There might be some lens distortion, and the pictures were taken at different times, with different BF%, but I hope to give you an impression of my proportions. Be nice:)

Your body shape give an expression like a 5'9 guy. Anyways, yes you can increase 10 cm but with two segment and count separate years for each procedure, Good luck.

Can't believe you're 172 cm. My initial impressions were that you're somewhere around 178 cm (5'10). Great proportions, 10 cm no problem.

OP seriously you've got a great build for being 5'7-5'8.

this is what someone who is 5'8 typically look like:


(no idea why he would do that to his traps, just makes him look more narrow)

notice how even though he probably works out more than you he has a much smaller rib cage and just looks narrow overall. you actually have a V taper with your chest while he just looks like a straight line.

How long have you been working out for / what's your routine like?

Big Daddy: LOL, I think the entire male fitness/bodybuilding environment is borderline gay, so that is expected.

All these pictures were taken a few years ago, when I used to hit the gym 5 days a week. Now I haven't worked out in 2 years or so. Just been depressed and gaming all day. All gains are lost, maybe around 10kgs gone. Without the muscle tone, my upper body actually looks shorter. I thought it would be opposite.

YourSpaceBoyfriend: I tried making a mockup yesterday, using the tutorial posted here. But it seems I didnt have the right image program to do it and quickly gave up.

onemorefoot: You think my legs look short? I actually think my legs are long, which is my biggest concern regarding LL. I constantly try to compare myself to other people who are taller than me and usually it seems like our hips are on the same level. I will soon measure sitting height an wingspan.

Yesterday I was on the train, and it seemed like everyone on it had a taller sitting height than me. And believe me, I pushed my ass and back as far in on the seat as I possibly could. Even all the girls/women were taller than me sitting. I thought most girls had longer legs? Maybe my posture is just fked up from all the gaming.

CaptainAmerica: That guys posture is just bad. It looks like he is exhaling when the photo is taken, and depressing his ribcage, chest, shoulders etc. He also looks to have rounded shoulders. Think his posterior traps as well as his teres + rhomboids are underdeveloped compared to his front. Thats just my take on it.

Idk man I'm more hypercritical of proportionality, and well you just come off as average build. Not saying it's not possible for you to pull off... but I don't think you fall under the category of short legs.

what is the trick at that bodybuilding thing?I mean usually guys who are around 5'7 look even shorter and more stumpy if they get mass on their body(And some dont,just like your case man you look really good)Is it about staying low on weight and turning it to mass?What was your weight at that pic?

Having more muscles and more mass can increase self-confidence. It can make you look better and some women like it also (not extreme bodybuilders, but some nice arms, etc.). I personally don't do it since I don't want to spend so much time working out and I would be afraid that my spine would compress when lifting weights, making me even shorter. But some do it and they like it.

he's not really that wide at all, he's probably average shoulder width for his height not hating it's just his bone structure, definitely not above average shoulder width. for some reason people here to seem to not be good judges of what wide shoulders look like. you have a good leg to torso ratio so I think you will benefit from this so I wouldn't worry about that.
