Hello everyone

I'm 25 year old guy from Saudi arabia.
I have been reading a lot on this forum since 2 years and after a lot of reasrching i found doctor in armenia who provide the classical ilizarov method for reasonable price.
I did contact with the hospital in armenia via whatsApp and this is their answer :

6 cm tibias lengthening by the classical Ilizarov method (https://legslengthen.com/services/limbs-lengthening-tibias-lengthening-single-cut/) will take 7 months and cost $ 20,500 ($11,400 for medical expenses, $9,100 for medical fees).

If you have shortage of time we can offer you lengthening over the nail (LON)( https://legslengthen.com/services/lengthening-over-the-nail/)  or lengthening and then nailing (LATN) method (https://legslengthen.com/services/latn/) methods. Simultaneous tibias lengthening will take 3 months and cost $ 21,900 ($18,000 for medical expenses, $3,900 for medical fees).

The above mentioned prices cover all medical expenses, including pre-surgical clinical and radiological examinations, surgeries, one hour of training with the physical therapist every day (6 days a week), up to 7 days at hospital after the surgery, transportation from and to hospital, and accommodation expenses, including staying at a comfortable apartment with care, 3 meals/day, cleaning, laundering, WiFi, etc.

Nails removal is not mentioned in the price. Nails should be removed in 6-12 months after the lengthening when bone consolidation is completed according to radiological examination.

I'm more consern to do the classical ilizarov because it's a lot safer.

please inlighten me with your advices.

Thank you

It won't take 7 months, this is semi-impossible for classical ilizarov. There are diaries here showing it will take at least 10-11 months, including mine. This includes recovery, removal, and getting to walk semi-normally, and I still use a cane 11 months from surgery. And I did 5.5. When doctors say that it automatically sets off my bull crap meter.

I would suggest Azerbaijan, where I did the surgery. It costs less, same doctors (post-soviet russian doctors), Baku is nicer than Yerevan, especially for you since it's visa free for Saudi's.

Check out my diary for some realistic expectations of classic ilizarov. 7 months is a joke dude. I did every exercise, steroid, rehab possible.

1 year post can run slowly, walking/gym everyday. Issues are zero, ankle tight waking up.

Look over this site please before deciding
Reputation of CLL in Armenia is so bad among English speaking communities, so they do lots marketing for Japanese
But many suffer complications in Armenia
One of the leg is bent like a banana.  You can see the picture on this site

https://boneextensionarmenia.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-7.html?sp

Pure ilizarov is not the safest
Only doctors who aren’t capable of managing IM nails prefer pure illizarov
In Armenia they started doing LON just last year.  Their experience of doing LON is not enough to trust

Plan to have Stryde TIBIAS surgery with Donghoon
Welcome any NEGATIVE information of Donghoon
Any doctor with more than 5% complication rate is NOT acceptable
