Cyborg4life mentioned this somewhere and I think more people should hear his opinion. I think he mentioned how it hurt his knees when he tried larger lifts. And this is bad for if you want to do LL later.

Go with shoes that are comfortable, won't hurt your knees over long walking distances. If you want extra height in shoes, go with shoes with slightly more than average heel thickness or very slight lifts but not enough to hurt your legs or affect the comfort of your walking

If you want to do LL, you want your joint / knee health to be as good as possible all the years you are saving up money and walking. I can't prove it but I think high heel / large lifts are not great for joint health and your legs long term compared to something like running shoes or comfortable dress boots.
