I think it's indeed a critical question, when the doctor says in the video "you are already 1 cm taller" immediately after the LL patient awakes after surgery.
I don't know neither how is it done and in fact they say it "saves time".
But that 1 cm is not bone yet! It seems on the Rx that they could even "lenghten" more, it seems empty space except the nail,  between the two segments of the femur.
On the other hand  how is it possible in a couple of hours to stretch 1 cm of muscles, tendons and all soft tissue??!

Regarding comparison with Stryder, different doctors have totally different approaches and protocols.
While for example Dr. Assayag prescribes totally "rest" time with NO mobilisation, for recovery from the "braking" surgery, of the body and tissues during the entire week afte surrgery,  Dr. Guichet encourages immediate mobilization of the patient after surgery as well as start lengthening by clicking from day 2, I think.
And they both have decades of experience...

I think it has to do something with the nail. When Giotikas did Precice he would not do 1cm after surgery and he would 1 week like all other doctors. But ever since he got Gnail he has started following Guichet's method. So I want to understand what in the nail makes this so.

Giotikas told me that problems with tendoms and nerves happen when you keep a too fast pace for a while (maybe doing like 1.5 mm per day for 2 weeks). However, he said that getting 1 cm after surgery is not dangerous. In fact, not only did I get 1 cm in surgery: I'm the only patient who had to click under anesthesia, and in one of my legs I got 7 mm in 20 minutes. I felt tight as hell after it, but after strectching for a few hours all went back to normal. As of today, I have no nerve damage or other problems like that, so it seems he was right I guess? I still don't know why this can be done with G nail but not with Precice.

Btw, it's not true that there is no rest: the normal clicking sessions start the week post surgery. It's true that we do like 2-3 clicks the day after surgery, but it's just to learn technique.

I didn't know about that first week with G-nail. So there is also the rest period. In another thread  where G-nail is mentioned,  Dr. Assayag himself asks the forum : "what happened to the latency phase?". So, there you have it, also one week, after that 1 cm and a few clicks.
But I had no idea our muscles and other tissues were able to stretch 7 mm in 20 minutes! (In this case it's not a surprise they need the rest/latency phase!
