With a highly distinguished career spanning over 30 years, Dr Metin Küçükkaya is a globally renowned orthopaedic surgeon. An expert in Classical Ilizarov surgical techniques, he has pioneered novel surgical protocols for cable bone transport and retrograde intramedullary nail extension, and became amongst the first surgeon in the world to implant both NuVasive PRECICE™ Magnetic Extension nail system and, more recently, Synoste’s wirelessly controlled smart memory alloy nail system alongside leading experts Dr Donghoon Lee and Dr Peter Thallar.
A world-leading researcher in the field of orthopaedic medicine, Dr Küçükkaya is Professor of
Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Istanbul Bilim University. With Dr Peter Thaller, he leads the highly regarded International 3D Surgery Course, educating clinicians on the latest surgical innovations, techniques, and technologies.
Dr Kucukkaya is dedicated to achieving best possible outcomes for post-operative patients who have
