Why is everyone obsessed with proportions?
« on: January 03, 2023, 11:37:46 AM »

I'm just curious. I look at basketball players with long ass legs compared to their upper bodies.

There are certain measurements like the 0.8 tibia/femur ratio that are consistent throughout populations so people who don't want to look weird keep this in mind similar with most people having a wingspan equal or greater to their height.

You give up varying degrees of looking proportionate when you do LL that is the tradeoff. People who say proportions don't matter are coping. If this were the case people could be doing 16cm 2 segment lengthening and look normal which they won't. Disregarding how much 16cm would mess you up.

People are generally more worried about their ape index (how long their wingspan is relative to their height) rather than torso to leg ratio.  It's actually probably a good thing to have long legs compared to your upper body because it gives the illusion that you look taller than you actually are (just look up the rule of thirds in fashion).

It's not that big of a deal unless you have a crazy ape index where your wingspan is 25cm less than your height.   Just look at Sedat from Livelifetaller; the guy went from 157cm to 177cm and has very short arms as a result but he still looks okay.  99% of people probably wouldn't even notice you have weird proportions even if you did quadrilateral LL unless you told them

Because it's really easy to get sucked into all of that before you do the surgery, but nobody really cares about it post surgery. I find it the best indicator to tell who actually went ahead with LL.

According to a proportions calculator you should be around 188cm tall with that knee height.

This can be mitigated by clothing.  When I'm wearing sweats I do see that my knees look very high.  Tighter pants with a shirt that doesn't go far past my waist just gives me a long basketball player look.

I've been saving money 2021 and finally came back to the forum. I going to have surgery.

I just hate livelifetaller and wannabetaller in turkey. I congratulate the people who have operated on other surgeons in Turkey
