I'm 172.5 cm tall.

I personally think I'm mostly short because of my short torso, so I wonder if I should even do LL at all?

You are around my height pre LL.  My profile pic is a before and after.  I'd say you could gain 3 inches on your femurs which would put you at 180cm and it would hardly be noticeable. But there are many other considerations before you decide on LL

Do pushups and pull-ups to improve the looks of your torso. You can also use shoe lifts/elevator shoes after that.

Then you can see if you still want something as drastic as LL.

Yes I do want to add, before doing this surgery, ask yourself if you have optimized your life to the fullest extent possible (job/career, personality, etc).

Just do it if you're gonna and don't worry about proportion. With 2-3 inches if your bone lengths are already in normal range they'll still be in normal range after. Being short sucks. Slightly out of proportion and good height > Perfectly proportioned short person

agreed too. but il say go for tibias due to plethora of advantages over femurs. but in the end its ur choice. also 3 inches would take u to 5'11 in the morning which is the tall realm worldwide. who even cares about very slight mis-proportions at tht point.

p.s u can always workout ur upperbody and make it appear bigger.
