Today is 6 months since i had my surgery. Two days before the surgery i asked Dr. Betz how long it would take until i can walk normal and he said about 6 months. And he was right, i can walk normal now without anyone really noticing, although i still need to do exercises. I can not run yet however but i can walk fast.

I also have a exercise bike wich i use like 5 times per day.

Hi, what sort of exercise bike do you have? Does the seat look like that of a normal bike or rather like a chair? I'm planning to buy one for the time when I come back home after my surgery...

I live in Scandinavia

About the nail, i guess its better to remove it once the bone is healed in case you break the bone in the future in an accident, then you dont want a bent nail inside the bone.

But do you feel the nail somehow inside your legs? Or is it if the nails weren’t there?

Hi tallertree,

I'm so happy that you've achieved what you wanted from your LL-experience and your diary has helped me tremendously I can't thank you enough!

A quick question, you mentioned you can't run yet, do you know when this will be possible? Also if you wanted to go to the gym and start weight lifting e.g deadlift/squats etc etc how long until this would be possible?

All the best for the future :)

No you dont feel the nail inside

I dont think its wise to do squats until the bone has healed. I will wait until my bone has healed completely until i start with heavy weight liftening.

Hi tallertree,

great diary! many thanks for that.

Why did you choose Betz but not Guichet for example? How long did you search for the right doctor?

Many thanks in advance and all the best!

Less is more.
Maybe one cm up or down could not change your appearance.
But one cm more is definitely do harm to joint than one cm less.

My walking is basically normal now. My right leg is recovering slower than my left leg but its doing progress.

Before doing LL i did lots of research and came in contact with a guy who had done the surgery in Germany with Dr. Betz a few years ago. He was very satisfied with his process and that lead me to contact Dr. Betz and after having a consultation i was convinced he was the right man for the job. My LL process has been very smooth and Dr. Betz has been very professional.
