Yea...

So stretch quads so you will not have APT - tilt forward

Stretch Hams, and use a roller to release Hams so you wont have duck feet

and walk often, while performing strength training, to limit your post Penguin state.

Speaking from experience...

Bones, - I'll add that tight hamstrings causes the legs to bend a bit at the knees.  Keep those hammy's loose as possible so you can stand straight up and down.  You're looking pretty good in that area from what you have shown.  APT also improving dramatically.   You're doing remarkably well!

Hello everyone, this is my Merry Christmas post...

DAY 131:

Status:

1.  So i am walking around everywhere now... in my apt, my apt complex, apt gym.. HOWEVER I will admit, I feel like I am off roading in my tennis shoes, slight off balance and waddle still there, so I have to be careful. Knees also feel tender when I walk, but no sharp pains.

2. No real pain, just "achieness" as I call it. Most achieness is in the knees, and hip area, two areas that are apparently weak. Due to this I still kind of sway side to side, and getting up from a sitting position takes a few seconds to get started. I have to push up on something to boost by self up initially.

3.  I am tight by normal standards, but way better then i was during distraction. I no longer need to force my leg straight, it is easy for me to straighten them, my nemesis at the moment is quads, causing slight APT. My knee flexion is at about 110 degrees (used to be 90)

4. Sleeping is getting back to normal, but not normal yet. Sleeping around 12am to 1am now not 3am to 4am thankfully, waking up around 7am or 8am. Goal is to sleep 10p to 11p. Will keep adjusting. Hardest part about sleeping is the APT, with that said I can now sleep on my side without issue. Mark this day - day 131 I CAN FINALLY SLEEP ON MY SIDE.

Does this sound at par for you guys? Something tells me I am taking the full grunt of this recovery.

Thanks all.

You're on par with where I was. Makes sense since our starting heights, age, and overall fitness is practically the same.

I just took my first steps without a waddle.

Day 132.

I believe this is a good sign.

Day 133...

I was able to walk to my apartment gym about 5 minutes away and actually feel in command of my steps for the first time.

Also noticing knees bending, and the heal to toe combination coming back...

Merry Christmas

Awesome progress Bonestretching! You mentioned 2 weeks post distraction that you still had a light dull pain, is that completely gone now?

Alchemist, pain is is about 99% gone when idle, just subtle feels of pain, that are so light i pay no mind to it, maybe once, twice a day. I could compare it to just being sore after a jog.

The only consistent feeling of pain (if you want to call it that), is when i do walk the knees are a bit tight/wirey. I have made good progress in flexion, but I can feel the tension bc knees are not completely loose yet. Its more like a feeling of tightness, more than pain. I could walk all day with this kind of feeling with no issues, and it is improving daily now. Something about day 130, each day it is now getting better.

This morning i was able to get out of bed and walk to my kitchen without any pre stretching, with no pain. Interesting... At this stage, I am wondering if this 4.5 Month mark is a sweet spot in the healing process... I will update again later today after my stretching and work out.

That is awesome!
If I may ask which surgeon did you do the surgery with and how much did it cost you and how much are you growing to in which part of the leg. I’m thinking of getting two surgeries done one in femur and one in tibia. Want to gain about 10cm currently lost in which surgeon to pick. Please let me know thank you ! Hope it goes well for you

Hands down, in my humble opinion Dr. Mahboubian is the guy.

I think you can find his latest costs on his website, feel free to message me i can tell you my costs.

If you look on page 1 of my diary, you can review on why I chose this surgeon.

Thanks I checked out his prices on his website. Quite expensive but not as expensive as Dr Paley. For both femur and tibia surgery it costs about 150k where as for dr Paley it’ll be over 200k. Also on his website there’s plenty of patients who have done even gained 14cm which is astonishing. Thanks for your info going to save up my money and get it done with him in the future.

Amazing progress man- very happy for you. I'm approaching 2 weeks post distraction and am happy with the daily progression but slightly impatient with the minor dull pain still around. Your timeline has me optimistic about the next few weeks.

Day 136

First day in 4.5 months, I have been able to get out of bed without having to lean against a walker or wall, and do so some kind of full leg stretch to get started. I simply got out of bed, stood up, and started walking.

First Full 8 hours of sleep in 4.5 months.

Carry on...

Wow amazing progress! 4.5 months seems like that sweet spot!

Question: Have you met family/friends/co workers yet? Have they noticed the height gain and if so how've you handled it?

SO guys, i am walking around the casino, and cafes now etc.

I still use a cane, but at least I can get around ok now.

No bad pain, just tight, and knees are a bit weak.

Advice, keep stretching and working your quads, knees etc with the same intensity d after the LL distraction. I think i could be further than I am now, but "slightly" dipped a bit on my squats, etc.

Hope you all are well. btw.. feels great to be taller in the big world.

I always wonder about x rays..

I see the bone growth, I see the callus, but is it hard callus? soft callus? Obviously the doc looked at these and said i am ready  to start slowly with jogging and light sports.

do you guys know how to read these on a basic level?
