Tibia & Femur with Dr. Giotikas and Precice in 2021.
« on: November 21, 2021, 07:43:58 AM »

The physical examination has been completed, and my surgery will be performed next week. The first surgery is on the tibia.
Under the protection of privacy, I will answer questions.
I don’t know how much pain will happen after the operation? So not sure when it will be updated.
When I am not uncomfortable, I will come to record my experience, I hope it will be helpful to everyone.

I know your surgery has been postoponed time after time due to Precice not coming back in time¡ I was going to do Precice, but in the end opted for G Nail. Wish you the best¡

Good luck! Are you doing both tibias and femurs at the same time?

Also what does the physical examination with Dr G entail?

Yes, I'll do the tibia tomorrow morning and the femur in about 3-4 weeks.

I had X-ray, chest film, ECG, blood pressure, blood drawing, virus test, inquiry and examination of cardiac experts, and doctors broke my legs.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have been hospitalized, I have a retention needle in my hand, and I have finished brushing my teeth and washing my face with one right hand. The doctor checked all the food I brought. Most of what I brought were all kinds of fruits, nuts and protein drinks, which can be eaten. For nutritional supplement, I brought liquid D3 and calcium tablets. The doctor said D3 is OK, but calcium tablets can't be eaten during hospitalization. In the hospital, I met two handsome men I saw in the rehabilitation center last time. One of them was across the glass of the hospital gate. I waved to him six times. He finally found that I was greeting him. Hahaha, after all, it has been nearly two months since I saw him last time. Sleep and get up tomorrow morning for surgery. Happy, nervous, scared... But I know this is what I've been waiting for. Good night, friends.

Thank you, everything went well for my operation. I was discharged from the hospital at noon today. I was very happy. The doctor changed my dressing before I was discharged. I saw the wound and treated it well. When I was hospitalized, I kept my laptop in the cabinet of the room, so I never used the computer, so I saw your message. Are you the one I saw in the office? Or the one who saw me when I beckoned frantically?

I was discharged from the hospital at noon today and returned to my hotel. I feel very happy because I have eaten delicious food and feel that my whole person is full of blood and resurrected. After I was discharged from the hospital today, I asked the driver to take me to several places... so Today I am a little tired and I need to rest. I used my mobile phone to record what happened during the hospitalization. When I rest, I will share my experiences and feelings soon.

November 22, 2021 (Surgery Day)

Woke up at 6:30 by the alarm clock, finished washing with one hand, and sat waiting for the doctor. The doctor came and talked for a while and then went to prepare. The nurse sent a small pants and robe that were bigger than my skirt, which needed a vacuum. Then I was pushed into the operating room with a bed, the anesthesiologist asked me some questions, and then I fell asleep.

I woke up in the observation room and stayed for a long time, and then pushed me back to the ward halfway. I asked the male nurse who pushed me to have a small basin of vomiting. He went back to the ward and tossed me on the bed. I asked him how old he is now. point? He said two o'clock in the afternoon, and then I stayed in bed.
Here is a compliment, this male nurse is handsome and gentle.

At 7 o'clock in the evening, I delivered the first dinner after the operation, a bowl of oil-free and salt-free noodles and a box of jelly. I drank half of the noodle soup and ate 3 scoops of noodles, a sip of jelly... and then vomited it all back into the bowl in half an hour.

From the time I woke up after the operation until 8:30 in the evening, there was no pain. I thought I was a wizard of broken bones!

My legs started to hurt a little at 8:30 in the evening.

The doctor came to the ward at 9pm to check my leg. He said it was a perfect operation and everything was normal, indicating that he would come again early.

Then the nurse came to put pillows under my legs and put white compression stockings on my legs.

At about 9:30, my legs hurt so much that I cried and cried! (At this time, my whole person is not good. What I think is that I will kill my thigh and I will go home after the calf is postponed). The nurse hung me an extra bag of stronger painkillers, and the pain disappeared after a while. (At this time, what I think in my heart is to do the thigh, I am really a fickle woman)!

Then I fell asleep.

The nurse came several times during the night to measure my blood pressure and ECG.
(It feels 1-2 hours once)

At about 5 in the morning, I will have my blood drawn for testing.

November 23, 2021 (the first day after surgery)

Gave me an oval pill at 7:30 in the morning for me to take

I sent back my breakfast at 8:00, 3-quarters of the bread was eaten, two spoons of yogurt were eaten, and the rest did not move.

8:46 The Ministry of Health came and replaced me with a complete set of bedding, and I would be moved around by the man and the woman (they were gentle and careful).

At 10:00, the doctor came to check my legs, and then gave me 3 movements to lift my legs, bend my legs, and press my legs, and ask me to do it every 5 minutes for the next hour. The doctor said to come and let me walk later.

11:36 The urinary tube was pulled out, and I was menstruating. Fortunately, I had menstruation after the operation and did not come during the operation.

2:20 The doctor and the physical therapist came together and brought a walker. I used my arms to force my legs and walked (knees can’t bend). I walked from the bed to the door and then came back. After I walked, I felt sick and lay down. After a long time in bed, the doctor and physical therapist also said that I did very well.

3:30 The Greek girl on the bed opposite to the ward (not my operation) was discharged from the hospital. She also left her contact information for me. If you need any help, call her and send a message. It's really all the way. When I walked, I met a lot of kind Greeks.

5:20 The rehabilitator came to me again and walked with a walker in the room. After I walked, I felt nauseous, but did not vomit.

Sent back for dinner at 6:50. At that time, I had no appetite at all. The taste of the meal was too strange for me. I got nauseated after one bite. Then I forced myself to bite two bites of bread and ate a spoonful of yogurt. Eat some grapes you bring. After eating, I have been nauseous, and I want to vomit but can’t vomit.

At night, nurses also come to measure blood pressure and ECG from time to time.

November 24, 2021 (the day after the operation)

7:20 gave me an oval medicine

7:30 The doctor came to see me, checked my leg, and brought a wheelchair. The doctor said he was going for surgery and would come back at noon.

8:20 My breakfast came and I had no appetite at all. I forced myself to eat half a small bread and half a spoonful of yogurt. Then I ate two bites of bananas and two bites of apples that I brought with me. I actually didn't want to eat them at all, just forcing myself to force myself to eat the afternoon.

8:46 The nurse pulled out my indwelling needle, saying that my blood vessel was too thin and this needle didn't work anymore, so I had to stick another needle.
(I didn’t work well with my retention needle yesterday afternoon. I had to fix a movement with my hand for it to work)

But in fact, I don't want her to pull it out and stick another one again, because it's okay for me to keep the movement myself.

When I was in the hospital on Sunday afternoon, I got stuck with this remaining needle twice. I was very painful, but I don’t blame the nurse, because my blood vessels are really thin, and I often get stuck several times in China!

The nurse pulled out my detained needle and gave me another one and failed, and then the medicine didn't lose... Give me a long cry.
Wechat’s video of finding her husband broke down and cried, and I felt wronged. I know that my blood vessels are thin and the retained needle can barely work. Why do I need to pull out my retained needle? If you pull it out and you can't get it, then you won't be able to lose the painkiller. This is going to hurt me to death! )
Next, my condition was not good, and my legs were so painful that I couldn't lift them up!

Today, the device that was fixed on my body to release pain relief was also withdrawn. There is a switch, press it when it hurts.

After breakfast today, two people from the hospital’s food and beverage department came and asked me what I want for food... I guess it’s because I ate too little last night. Ask me any food allergies and other questions.

At 12:54, my lunch was sent back. I had no appetite. I left it there and said I would eat it later. I didn’t even open the lid of the plate. The one who delivered the meal within ten minutes took another one to replace the one that was delivered first. I took a look at the replacement plate, which looked like the meal that was nauseating after a bite last night. This new plate looks much refreshing, only carrot, potato, zucchini gnocchi (I don’t know what rice or noodles are). I ate a half of this gnocchi and soup. I didn’t touch the rest and ate myself. I brought half a banana and half an apple. I still had no appetite and forced myself to eat it.

The anaesthetist came and gave me a retention needle (pink) for a baby. This female anaesthetist was fine. While comforting me, she told me the story that she was afraid of doctors when she was a child, and then finished the retention needle, nurse I came back soon and hung up the medicine, and my condition started to get better.

2:50 The doctor came to see me, asked me the degree of pain, said that he would give me more painkillers, and then said that he would come and let me walk again.

The nurse came and hung me a bag of "powerful" painkillers in a soft bag. It didn't take long for me to recover, and I could raise my legs, bend my legs, press my legs... and do the exercises the doctor taught me. Action, happy. However, when this powerful painkiller was infused more than half of the time, I started to feel nauseous. It lasted for about an hour. I felt like vomiting but couldn't vomit. It should be because I was eating too little.

In the afternoon, someone from the company sent me the extension equipment and taught me how to use it. I could start extension after the doctor gave me an order.

Today, accompanied by a physical therapist, I used a walker to walk from the bed to the corridor, then walked back, more than double the distance I walked yesterday, and I don’t have the disgusting feeling of walking yesterday.

I ate dinner with my husband’s WeChat video. I ate half of chicken thighs, a spoonful of mashed potatoes, a piece of cucumber (slightly sweet) and the rest did not move. My husband ate with me in the video, and I ate half of what I brought. Bananas, three-quarters of apples, a 250ml bottle of protein drink, this meal is considered to be the most eaten.

8:05 When the nurse was routinely taking blood pressure and ECG measurements, he gave me a tummy tummy for a while. I asked her to prevent vein clotting. The needle was very thin but it was quite painful.
The nurse looked at my new pink baby’s retention needle. She said that I was the only one here, and I didn’t want to. My blood vessels were really too thin!

November 25, 2021 (the third day after surgery)

I don’t know what the ingredients are in the painkiller last night. It made me so excited until 4 in the morning. It was too irritating for me who had never smoked or drank before [covering face]

At 5:47 in the morning, I took a few tubes of blood for testing.

New bedding was changed at 7:40 in the morning.

Breakfast was delivered at 9:00. I ate half of the bread with the crust and ate the other half of the filling. The crust was too hard, and the rest did not move. Then I ate half of the banana that I brought and ate it. Half an apple, drink a bottle of 250ml protein drink,

Just after having breakfast, the rehabilitation specialist came to me again and asked me to walk on the ground with a walker. It was twice as large as yesterday, about 30 meters. When I came back, I didn’t feel dizzy and didn’t want to vomit. She said that I did a good job. .

After walking in the afternoon, I was in a good condition, but I just lay back on the bed after walking.

At 10 o’clock the nurse came and gave me an infusion. Uh, the medicine made me sick. The nurse told the doctor. The doctor changed a different liquid to relieve the nausea (it should be antiemetic) and brought another member of the team. The doctor got to know me and brought me a large packet of medicine, explaining that he would tell me how to take it in the morning, and there was a chair, saying that the rehabilitation specialist would come to me later and tell me how to use it. Because I was sick and didn’t eat lunch, I changed again. I had to feel weak and very sleepy. I was sleeping in the afternoon. The rehabilitation specialist came to see my condition and said that he would come and walk with me later. Later, I insisted on eating half of the fish. When I was eating, the doctor came. I also asked how the food in the hospital was. I shook my head like a rattle [breaking tears into laughter].

A new round of oral medicine was given at noon today. I was sick and didn't ask for any medicine. I was given a large packet of medicine today, which means I have come to teach me to take it early.

At 6:30, the rehabilitation specialist took me to walk around the corridor again. It had to be 30 meters long, neither pain nor tired nor dizzy. Then I asked. Normally, I will be discharged from the hospital at noon tomorrow. The rehabilitation practitioner will teach me to use the chair and crutches tomorrow morning. The rehabilitation practitioner said that I am walking very well and that I am super sweet.

6:55 Bring me my dinner, hairy legs and legs meal. I ate half of the leg meat and the apple plus a bottle of 250ml of protein drink that comes with it.

7:59 The nurse put another needle in my stomach (to prevent venous clotting). The needle was very small and the stamina was quite painful! He gave me another round pill by mouth.

It is still a routine ECG blood pressure measurement, and analgesic solution is applied, and I slept good night.

Looking forward to being discharged tomorrow [hug]

November 26, 2021 (discharge day)

8:00 ECG blood pressure measurement

8:25 Breakfast was delivered, because we are going to be discharged from the hospital, do we have two more snacks? I still don't have any appetite. I only took a bite of the two snacks. I drank some water and didn't move anything else... I was very sleepy and went to sleep.

8:51 Let me take a round pill, hang on today's first bottle of painkiller, and then go to sleep.

9:30 The doctor came to check my legs, took off the previous compression stockings, tore off the tape, and "disinfected" (I don't know what he painted, I know that one is normal saline, so it is collectively called disinfection) , And then affixed the "tape" again and put on a pair of white pressure socks. The doctor told me how to take each medicine and marked it for me on the pill box. Then told me that I would be discharged from the hospital at 11 o'clock. He also told me that his team will send me an email afterwards, about when to start the extension and do Pt... there will be detailed instructions.

Hahahahaha, I was discharged from the hospital. A rehabilitator and a nurse took me to the reception desk of the hospital (the doctor gave me: manual wheelchair, bath stool, walker, and the hospital gave me a super big bag with your case in it. Various inspection results...), my driver came to pick me up. I am very satisfied with my driver. The uncle has two sons and a daughter. He is very professional, punctual, and the car is very clean. The most important thing is to drive super stable.

I went out of the hospital to a cake shop, a coffee shop...
I am grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and rehabilitation practitioners for taking care of me.

Back to the hotel in the afternoon, boiled a pot of snail noodles, okra, and lo-mei without chili! After taking a bite, he was immediately resurrected with blood!

I went to bed on time at ten o'clock in the evening, good night 😴

The above content is the process I recorded in my mobile phone, which is similar to a running account.

Today I am in a very good condition. I take medicine, eat, and walk around with a walker. I don’t feel any pain. The only thing is that I feel tired easily.

Yesterday I received an email from the doctor’s team. It mentioned that I need to eat more than 2500 calories a day. This is a bit unaccustomed to me. For breakfast this morning, I usually prepare a lot. It’s a bit nauseous, so eat a few more meals. Change 3 meals a day to 4-5 meals to accomplish your goal. It should be better.

Then tomorrow will be extended, 4 times a day, 6 hours apart.
Start PT the day after tomorrow.

The happiest thing is that in the afternoon I received a large bouquet of flowers ordered by my husband. He is the best man in the world. :)

Which meds do you have to take for how long?

The doctor gave me 5 types of medicines, a large pack of medicines, and the email sent by the doctor team mentioned that they will be notified when there are only 4 days of medicine left on their hands, and the new medicines will be delivered to the PT.

I just finished the first extension an hour ago, 0.25mm once, four times a day, with an interval of 6 hours.

The operation of the machine is very simple, the legs don't feel much, the mood is very excited, and finally began to grow tall!!!

Glad to hear things are going well. Thanks for the in depth detail of your first few days.

What made you choose Precise on femurs as opposed to G-nail?

Two years ago, my first choice was that both femur and tibia were S. as a result, the doctor saw my X-ray film and said that the bone cavity of my lower leg was thin and probably could not put the smallest size of S. therefore, the doctor gave me the suggestion of femur S + tibia P. during the operation, in order to prepare s and P suitable for the specification of my lower leg, if the tibia can be put down s according to the actual situation, give priority to my lower leg with S, If you can't put it in, use P.

Later, I was delayed for nearly two years because of the epidemic situation, visa, s recall and P retrial

Without s, the doctor agreed that I use p for both tibia and femur. Before, he suggested that I use p for tibia and s for femur.

I don't know much about the G needle you said. I know that the pain of G is greater than P, and I feel that I can't complete it well, so I choose P. And I'm light.
